Mid Week Prayer

New Life City Church does not presently have a formal Men’s Ministry. However, Pastor Jack has thrown out a challenge to the men of New Life under the title 100 KINGDOM MEN as follows:

100 KINGDOM MEN

Men who like Reuben will excel in Honour & Power (Gen.49.3)

Looking forward to developing this in 2020, especially for all the men in New Life City Church

Men who will come together as men of God for the purpose of growing in faith and spiritual maturity, and will develop godly character that reflects Christ and honours the Father.

Men who will be a God Influence to the men in our community and beyond, that they, like us, will come to know Jesus as Lord and Saviour, and will do so by whatever God has placed in our hands, as Paul said, “By all means, save some” (1 Cor.9.22).

Men who will tear down walls of division and demolish satanic strongholds, reaching our fellow men with the love of Christ to see their lives transformed by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Men who will encourage and support each other to be vigilant and to stand together firm in the faith (1 Peter 5.8,9)

It’s time for men in the church to be Kingdom Men

100 KINGDOM MEN – 2020 Programme of Activities

Kingdom Men is not about taking up time or getting men to do anything they really do not want to do, or don't have the time to do, but is about creating opportunities for men to step up for their own benefit and for the benefit of other men.

Here are some ideas:

1) A Weekly Fellowship Lunch – Every Friday from 1 pm – 2 pm

This is for those men who are not working or can take the time to drop in. It will involve having lunch together (soup, sandwiches & drinks) and have a Short Bible Study & discussion, ending with a few Prayers.

Afterwards – anyone can stay for the Men’s Drop-in that meets on Fridays from 2 - 4 pm, or leave for home or work

2) We will organise three “Your Voice” Testimony Events during the year, two of these at the church and one at the Prison. All three will probably be on Thursday nights

3) We will organise occasional and random 100 KINGDOM MEN gatherings

These could be Special Breakfast Events or for guest speakers to speak into the lives of our men

4) Encourage engagement as often as is appropriate for each person

This could be meeting for coffee and a chat; coming together to watch a football game; developing an “Interest Group” e.g. fishing, golf, scrabble, or whatever! Could be daytime, nighttime, Friday night when the scrabble is on, Saturday morning or any other time that suits.

5) Encourage those who need encouragement

Look out for each other; be accountable to one another; trust one another; speak positively about each other; refuse to gossip about others

Being one of the 100 KINGDOM MEN is not just about having your name on a list, but is about stepping up to support the life of the church i.e. To be there on Sunday Mornings for Worship, Teaching and Communion, and to be involved in at least one activity during the week - Life Group, Prayer Meeting, or other activity, and to meet with other KINGDOM MEN as appropriate.
